As a Charleston studio photographer I am always on the hunt for something unique to use in my sets. Now that Spring is on the horizon and the flowers are blooming, I am starting to decorate my home as well as gather new ideas for my child portrait sessions. Rather than filling my cart at Hobby Lobby or Michaels, I have always preferred to shop at little boutiques and antique shops for something unique. It is so much fun!
I stumbled upon this little gem right here in Goose Creek, SC. It is located in a shopping center off of the busy St. James Avenue and is called the Goose Creek Antique Mall. The large parking lot makes it so easy to pop in to see what has been added at any time of the day! The antique mall is made up of several venders, some with new cottage-vibe items and farm house decor, & some are strictly antiques.
I wonder if the Pink Flamingo pillows are still there?!
Items go quick- and their prices are sooooo reasonable. Take it from a girl who loves antiquing!
We loved finding this Chenille bear most likely upcycled from a chenille bedspread at Time Passages. She also carries several dishes and tea cup sets which are darling for a collector or for decorating your home in the Spring. I love to put a Camilla bloom into a little tea cup and saucer. As a child portrait photographer, tea parties are a big hit with little ladies ages 3-6. How precious is the little set in blue below?
Time Passages is run by Lisa Farrell. She is so bubbly and friendly; we had the best time chatting! If you happen to visit, you will know it when you meet her by her friendly smile. She also carries fun books, pillows, blankets and fabrics. The chaise lounge I fell in love with has already sold, but she now has a wooden vintage rocking chair and an old wooden chest. These can be incorporated into your home easily no matter the style.
After speaking with Lisa of Time Passages, I planned for a photo session in her store. I chose a pretty Spring floral dress by the talented La Petite Wardrobe who I have been buying from for many years. It went perfectly with all her Spring decor and we had a great time!
I also love to support local businesses and am so happy to have made "friends" with the team at Goose Creek Antique Mall.
XO- Angie
